Through The Door
In a perfect world, happy families can exist. There, little girls wear white dresses, eat lots of ice cream, paint pictures, and dance ballet. Parents kiss because they are in love.
This film peeks in on a Russian family in America. Late one night, two sisters can't sleep. Through a bedroom door slightly ajar, they hear their parents arguing about unfamiliar things. Puzzled, the sisters try to interpret what they hear, and their imagination becomes their guide, protecting them.
Through the Door is the second of five short films that will make up the planned feature film Apples and Seeds. Each story will be about children’s formative experiences in which adults play an important role but are often unaware of their influence.
Narrative short, 17 English and Russian (with English subtitles), revised 2011.
