Profile of Russian Poet, Vera Pavlova. Presented in a style of a visual poem, this documentary reveals Vera’s thoughts on love, life, and poetry. Shot in Moscow and New York, the film provides an intimate glimpse into her life, her creative process, and a chance to experience the milieu of her complex, sensual, charming world.

Happy to be So

Documentary: English, 46 min, 2012 

Documentary about Oleg Briansky and Mireille Briane, former principal dancers, renowned ballet teachers, and a dynamic duet for more than 50 years. The film depicts the Brianskys as performers and narrators of their own life story, highlighted by exciting footage from the ‘50s and ‘60s. The film honors these two people whose personalities have complemented each other throughout a lifetime of working together, combining vibrant creativity, curiosity and humor.

The Story of Fenist

Documentary: Russian (English subtitles), English, 47 min., 2001,2012 

The true story of Russian puppeteer Igor Fokin who entranced children and adults alike with his memorable performances in Harvard Square – where a statue stands of one of his puppets - from 1994 until his untimely death in 1996. The film includes a parallel story to Fokin’s artistic struggles based on the Russian fairy-tale,"Fenist the Bright Falcon", about a magical bird that, overcoming great odds, reaches its star. Two children provide the delightful narration.

Through the Door

A narrative short about a Russian immigrant family in America... 

Late one night, two sisters can't sleep. Through a bedroom door slightly ajar, they hear their parents arguing about unfamiliar things. Puzzled, the sisters try to interpret what they hear, and their imagination becomes their guide, protecting them.

A short film about children’s formative experiences in which adults play an important role but are often unaware of their influence. Two children meet on a beach. At 8 years old, life  beautiful and simple, but it is not simple for their parents.
